Informative article about Volleyball

Volleyball is one of the most popular sports in the world. At the amateur level, almost a billion people on our planet are fond of him. In 1895, the American physical education teacher William J. Morgan announced the invention of a new game – Minton (which was later renamed volleyball), its rules were published 2 years later. Of course, these rules have changed many times so that volleyball has acquired its present form. For example, in 1918 the number of players on the court was fixed – 6 from each team, in 1925 they approved the size of the court, the weight and size of the volleyball, which is still used today. This sport is one of the few that are included in the program of the Olympic Games immediately in both male and female versions. This happened at the XVIII Games in Tokyo. Since the 20s of the last century, volleyball lovers began to appear, and with them the first matches. The party leadership approved this game and since 1933 the first official competitions were held among Soviet athletes. Since the 60s, for a long time, the Soviet and the women’s and men’s teams had practically no equal in world competitions – a volleyball medal was brought from almost every Olympic game. Russia also retained this custom. Since 2000, the men’s team has 4 medals in the piggy bank (1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronzes), while the women’s team has 2 medals (both silver). Thanks to volleyball, the speed of the reaction, the eye, the coordination of movements, and agility develop. Strengthens the muscles of the back (which guarantees a beautiful posture), legs and arms. In addition, this game does not require complex devices for matches and is perfect for a friendly game in the yard.
